Pattaya Beach And The Other Beaches in Pattaya

So why is Pattaya Beach so famous?

Well it has become associated with the nightlife in Pattaya and the fun that can be had there in the bars and clubs.

However what you may not know is that these bars and clubs are actually situated in “Walking Street” and along the “Beach Road” and not on the actual beach.

So for all you sun lovers and watersports enthusiasts, if you are planning a trip to Pattaya and are looking for details of the beaches and the activities that can be found on these beaches. This page will assist you in locating some of those great beaches in and around Pattaya, and especially the ones that most visitors do not even know exist.

So let’s start from the north of Pattaya and work southwards, firstly you come across…

Naklua Beach

Naklua Beach is to the far north of Pattaya beach in Naklua. This beach was and still is used today by the fishing community. Not a beach you would use so much for relaxation and sunbathing, but even so still worth a visit. You can see the old houses that so many people in the fishing and salt farming industry used in years gone by.

Wongamat Beach

This is where you will find some of the best beaches in Pattaya.

There are actually 3 beaches here starting with The Crescent Moon Beach, after this you have Palm Beach and finally Long Beach.

All three beaches are part of Wongamat and are probably the cleanest most secluded beaches in Pattaya. If you are staying in Pattaya and looking for a great beach to sunbathe and relax on, then why not visit one of these Pattaya beaches. A day at the beach here is also complimented by the provision of food and beverage services, as well as massages, manicures and pedicures. Basically all the services frequent visitors have come to expect when visiting any of the beaches in Thailand.

Dusit Bay Beach

The next beach you come to before you get to Pattaya Beach is The Dusit Bay. This beach is part of the Dusit Hotel and Resort in Pattaya and is another great little spot for sunbathing and relaxing. For visitors who are staying at the Dusit Hotel, using this beach and the hotels facilities and services it offers, can help make a day at the beach extremely relaxing and most enjoyable.

Pattaya Beach

After the Dusit bay you finally come to Pattaya Beach. This beach is divided into 3 sections North Pattaya, Central Pattaya and South Pattaya. The main road that runs the entire length of this beach, which is approximately 3 kilometres is called (Yes you’ve guessed it) Beach Road.

Along the majority of this beach you will find a mass of parasols and deckchairs, and all the watersports you could ever wish for. On the opposite side along the entire length of the road, you will find restaurants, shopping complexes and as many beer bars as you could imagine. Without a doubt the busy nature of this area can deter some people from spending a day at Pattaya Beach, especially the ones who are looking for a quieter spot to relax and catch some rays.

For this very reason we have compiled this list of beaches, so keep looking and you will find a beach in Pattaya that suits your requirements.

However you must still pay a visit to Beach Road Pattaya at some point during your trip. Although it may be too busy for you to spend the day there, a trip to Pattaya is not complete without visiting the world famous “Beach Road” and indeed “Walking Street”.

The next beach you come across around from Pattaya Beach is the Royal Cliff Bay. This is where you will find firstly the Sheraton Hotel in Pattaya which has its own private beach, you can see from the picture opposite it is a small but very secluded beach.

Secondly the Royal Cliff Hotel and Resort in Pattaya which again has a private beach but is much larger than the Sheraton. It is still very secluded and has all the services you would expect from a luxury hotel.

Pattaya Beach

This beach is another great beach to visit. With its golden sandy beach and blue waters it is an excellent place to spend time if you are looking for relaxation and the sun. Food and drinks can be purchased as with most other beaches, and the use of the Cosy Hotels services can also be utilized. Another one to give a try!

Asia Beach

This beach can be found next to the Asia Hotel in Pattaya. This great little beach is usually accessed by the steps to the right of the Asia Hotel, and although a small beach is great for relaxation and sunbathing. The beach café that is on the beach serves some delicious Thai food and drinks, and I have spent many an afternoon and evening having a beer watching the sunset on this excellent beach. What a great location, and another of Pattaya’s little gems that many people do not know about. Why not give it a try.

Soi 5 Beach

This beach is accessed from Soi 5 on Pratamnak Road. Go to the very end of Soi 5 and you will come across this great beach. It is certainly one of the best beaches in Pattaya, again although relatively small its secluded location allows for relaxation and sunbathing, while its blue sea and palm tree fringed beach provides the perfect setting. Food and drinks are a plenty on this beach, and as you will see from the picture opposite it really is a great little beach to visit while you are here in Pattaya.

Pattaya Park Resort Beach

The Pattaya Park Resort is a fun and theme park that is located between Pattaya and Jomtien. There will find all the water rides you could wish for, along with swimming pools and abseiling rides from the Pattaya Park tower. In front of this resort there is also a golden sandy beach, here you will often see basket ball games and other activities taking place. A great place if you want to keep yourself active.

Dongtan Beach

The next beach you come too is the Dongtan Beach. This beach can be easily accessed by taking a Tuk-Tuk to Jomtien, when see the beach front instead of going left to the main Jomtien Beach, you go to the right past the Police Station. Dongtan Beach is predominantly used by Gay people in Pattaya, it is known as The Pattaya Gay Beach, and is a fairly quiet beach. As with all the beaches the usual food and drinks services are available during the day.

Jomtien Beach

The coastline of Jomtien Beach stretches for approx 6km, it is a much calmer beach than Pattaya beach, and is a great beach for families and anyone wishing to relax or catch some rays.

The golden sands along the entire length of this beach are fringed with palm and coconut trees. This beach provides the perfect atmosphere for anyone wishing to relax and soak up the sun, or for anyone looking to participate in the numerous watersports available. It is also the ideal place if you want to get away from the crowds as the beach is so long you will always find the perfect spot for your enjoyment.

The evening time along this beach can be particularly spectacular, as the sun starts to go down the breeze can pick up, and then the scenery comes alive. Without a doubt a few beers while watching the sunset along Jomtien beach, and maybe even a bite to eat, well that’s one of the highlights of life here in Pattaya. AMAZING!

Na Jomtien Beach

At the very end of Jomtien beach the next beach you come across is Na Jomtien Beach. This beach is approx 6km in length, and it continues from Jomtien and is a popular location for both Thais and foreigners who are looking for a little privacy. It is very quite and has many hotels and resort hotels that are situated along the beach front. The resort of Na Jomtien is perfect for families and people who like a nice hotel and are looking for a quite, relaxing holiday. However for most people who visit Pattaya and are here for the nightlife and other aspects of Pattaya life, this beach is probably too far away and too quite.
